About me
I'm Drew St. Lawrence. For more than a decade I've taught, coached, researched and designed learning on three continents.
I started my career teaching math and coaching teachers in New York City. A desire to see more of the world led me to Singapore on a Fulbright fellowship, where I studied how cultural values shape the way students learn together. When COVID-19 closed schools worldwide, I led the primary math curriculum for Rising on Air, interactive radio lessons that reached millions of out-of-school children across Africa and Asia. Since then I've built game-based math lessons, online courses for educators and AI readiness curriculum, and I've facilitated professional development sessions for teachers across the United States.
What I bring from that path is a teacher's sense of what works in a real room, a researcher's eye for culture and context, and years of practice designing within tight constraints, like time, technology, or training.
I'm most interested in where education meets design, technology, culture and play. Whether it's a curriculum, a workshop or an interactive experience, I'm after the same thing: a chance for people to make meaning together.
Outside of work I'm usually practicing Spanish, seated on a bike or at a drum kit, or cooking an elaborate meal for loved ones.
